Just got back from travelling around Pula, Croatia and Venice, Bologna & Ravenna, Italy visiting the fantastic contemporary, Roman and Byzantine mosaics.

Topped most of all by my visit to Orsoni (worldwide producers of smalti) in Venice where we stayed in their fanastic small family hotel. Met the Director and was kindly given a lengthy tour of the factory and workshops. Here I am with a lovely lady from Australia on a week-long workshop. She generously allowed me to use some of her smalti to experiment with the hardie and hammer.

If you are at all interested in smalti I can't recommend strongly enough in contacting Orsoni to arrange a visit.
