Easingwold War Memorial Poppy mosaics
14/08/2024
I had a great time in the summer of 2018 working with Easingwold community (of all ages and abilities) who joined in to create ten poppy mosaics to mark the centenary of the end of WW1.
Initially funded by Easingwold Town Council and Easingwold & District Lions the project has continued over the years, most recently also funded by the Easingwold District Community Carers Association, with the objective of fully encircling the war memorial in this pretty Georgian town in North Yorkshire.
I have just installed a further four poppy mosaics created this year with the over 70s during their 'Tea and Tarts' meetings accompanied by beautiful piano playing.
